The School Day

  • Start of the Day

    Foundation Stage 1 

    For children in Foundation Stage 1 the day starts at 8.40am until 11.45am. Parents enter the school from the Slater Street entrance and make their way through the 2 playgrounds to the EYFS base.

     Foundation Stage 2

    For Foundation Stage 2 the school day starts at 8.40am until 3.15pm. Parents enter the school from the Slater Street entrance and make their way through the 2 playgrounds to the EYFS base.

     KS 1 and KS 2

    The school day starts at 8:40am. Parents and children may enter the main playground from the Slater Street entrance from 8.30am. The children will then make their own way through the gates to make their way to their classrooms

     Registration

    Registration is completed by 9.00am, followed by the first teaching session.

    Playtime

    Playtime is 10:35 am to 10.50am for Years 1- 6. Key Stage 1 children are given fruit to enjoy during break. Key Stage 2 children are encouraged to bring in a healthy snack for each playtime.

    In Foundation Stage the children all have milk and a piece of fruit every day.

    After playtime, the second teaching session takes place.

    Lunch

    The lunch break is as follows:

    F2 / KS 1

    11:45am- 12.40pm

    KS 2

    12.00 – 12.55 pm 

    Lunch is followed by afternoon registration and the third and fourth teaching sessions.

    Hometime

    Foundation Stage 1 children finish school at 11.45 am. Parents should wait to enter the school via the Frog Island entrance. The gate will be unlocked for them to enter the EYFS base to collect their children.

    Foundation Stage 2 pupils and all children in Year 1 – 6 finish school at 3.15pm.

    The school gate on Slater Street is open from 3pm for parents to wait in the main playground. At 3.15 the gate  to the school is opened and parents/carers of F2, Year 1 and Year 2 may wait outside their child’s classroom to collect them.

    Year 3,4,5 and  6 children will be brought along to the main playground by their teacher to be collected. Adults and children may leave via the Slater Street or Frog Island entrance.
