Pupil Leadership Roles

At Slater Primary School, our Pupil Leadership Groups (PLGs) give children the opportunity to take on roles of responsibility, develop leadership skills and make a positive contribution to school life. Pupils work together to share ideas, support their peers and help improve our school community. We currently have six PLGs: Eco-Warriors, House Captains, Library Monitors, Lunchtime Leaders, School Council and Digital Leaders. Through these groups, children learn the importance of teamwork, citizenship, responsibility and having a voice in shaping their school.

Eco-Warriors help to make our school more environmentally friendly by promoting recycling, reducing waste and encouraging everyone to care for the world around us.

House Captains are role models who lead and support their House teams, encourage participation in events and help promote teamwork and school spirit.

Library Monitors help to organise and look after the school library, support younger readers and encourage a love of reading across the school.

Lunchtime Leaders help to organise games and activities during lunchtimes, ensuring that playtime is enjoyable, active and inclusive for all pupils.

School Council representatives gather the views of their classmates, share ideas for improving the school and help pupils have a voice in decision-making.
