At Slater Primary School, we believe in fostering leadership, responsibility, and a strong sense of community among our students. Our Head Boy and Head Girl play a vital role in representing the school, setting a positive example, and supporting both staff and students throughout the year.
What Do the Head Boy & Head Girl Do?
The Head Boy and Head Girl are chosen for their dedication, leadership skills, and commitment to our school values. Their responsibilities include:
✅ Representing the school at events, assemblies, and special occasions
✅ Acting as role models by demonstrating outstanding behaviour and attitude
✅ Supporting younger students and providing guidance as peer mentors
✅ Assisting in organising school events, charity initiatives, and projects
✅ Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to improve school life

How Are They Chosen?
Each year, students in Year 6 have the opportunity to apply for the role of Head Boy or Head Girl. The selection process includes:
🎤 Application Speech – Candidates present a speech to their peers and staff, highlighting their qualities, ideas, and why they should be chosen.
📋 Shortlisting – The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) carefully reviews applications, considering leadership skills, behavior, and contributions to school life.
🏆 Final Selection – The successful candidates are chosen by the SLT based on their suitability for the role.
At Slater Primary School, we are proud of our student leaders and the positive impact they have on our school community. Their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm help make Slater a wonderful place to learn and grow.
