Together We Believe. Together We Achieve
Curriculum & Teaching (Intent)
At Slater Primary, we equip all children with the digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and creativity needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Our inclusive computing curriculum inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and innovation, ensuring every child has the confidence and capability to shape their own future. Built around four key strands, Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Literacy, and E-Safety, our curriculum empowers pupils to understand computing principles, apply knowledge to create purposeful digital solutions, and navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
Personal Development & Wellbeing (Implementation)
Our curriculum is structured to progressively build knowledge and skills through engaging, practical projects. Lessons are adapted to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all learners. We embed E-Safety throughout, promoting responsible online behaviour. Extracurricular opportunities such as coding clubs extend learning beyond the classroom, fostering lifelong engagement with technology.
Achievement (Impact)
Children develop strong digital skills and confidence in problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. They can design, create, and evaluate digital solutions, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. Pupils leave EYFS and KS2 prepared for the next stage of education, with the ability to use technology responsibly and effectively in real-world contexts.
